So as far as an idea for my final project,

i am kind of considering writing a short story, mainly with pictures (kind of like a comic book)

i really like the idea of summing up the pages with one or two sentences that describe that experience and then drawing a picture to help recall that moment so that i could look back on it and fully engage in that time again.

i want it to have sort of have a child like vibe to it and be more interactive. Right now it is pretty flat and thought i feel like i have some cool thoughts on there i want my thoughts to come to life with some kind of interactive possibility. i had in mind a children's book with pop up pictures and moveable elements that help the journal to breathe.

I'm still not 100% sure how this will go but I'm playing with that idea right now. if you have any suggestions or more ideas please let me know!

  1. Kind of like the prompts from class summarizing the journals in one sentence could be really powerful. I wouldn't hesitate to try that one out, but I feel like you aren't even sure what you want to do either. Maybe with each sentence draw or insert an abstract photo that expresses the emotion that you feel when you reflect on this. Lastly I think that interactivity is great if you can make it happen that makes it more of an outward thinking journal project which I think is awesome!

  2. Such a fun idea! If you are able to take your life experiences and make light of them (especially if you can make them into a funny story) this could be so beneficial as far as motivation to continue journaling! Sometimes I find it hard to get myself to journal because I just start b*tching about unimportant things, but if you can take your more serious thoughts (or complaints) and make them into a fun-to-read-and-look-at-story it could be such a release from heavy journaling!

  3. I like your idea of a comic book type thing! Comics can be for kids or adults, so maybe you could make yours more child-like, but if you have enough time, the pop up book would be a great project! I can imagine that summing up a whole page of experience and feeling in just two sentences would be hard, but I do like that idea. How would you choose what the pop-up for that page would be?
